Who We Are

Our Story

Established in 2018, Rise to Thrive was founded with the aim of ensuring that Women of Color have the opportunity to lead within the Climate Justice Movement while being fully respected and valued.

We are Women and Femmes of Color within the Environmental Movement dedicated to securing representation, empowerment, and solidarity for WOC in this movement.

Our Mission

Rise to Thrive's primary mission is to empower and support Women and Femme leaders of Color in the Climate, Environmental, and Conservation Movement. We are dedicated to enabling Women of Color to take on leadership roles within the environmental sector and advocate for a climate justice movement that emphasizes race, gender, and class analyses.

Our community in Rise to Thrive comprises cisgender women, transgender women, femme/feminine-identifying, genderqueer, and non-binary individuals who have historically been marginalized in mainstream environmentalism.
