Movement Building
We build community, a political home, and a shared ideology around achieving Climate and Environmental Justice with Women & Femmes of Color nationally.
We do this by:
Hosting convening’s and retreats
Establishing a shared national vision for the work
Lift, Recognize, and Legitimize Women of Color & Femme leaders in the Climate Movement.
We lift the leadership, work, and accomplishments of Women of Color in the environmental and climate movement.
We do this through our:
Rise to Thrive Leadership award: The award is established to recognize the brilliance of Women of Color & Femmes on the frontlines and fence lines of the Climate Justice Movement. We will honor individuals with deep community ties and with backgrounds in organizing and movement building. We will do this because the work of organizing communities and movement building is difficult and requires a specialized skill set. The craft of grassroots organizing requires an emotionally intelligent relationship builder who cares more about eradicating harm than their ego. We understand that this work is emotionally taxing, underpaid, under-resourced, and is usually handled by Women of Color who are already experiencing harm through multiple intersecting identities. We want to honor this extremely important work and uplift the people who are doing it.
Support Women of Color & Femmes who are Frontline and Fence line leaders in the Climate & Environmental Movement.
We provide rapid response project support to Women of Color in the Environmental and Climate Justice movement.
We do this through our:
Mutual Aid fund
Professional Development Fund
Partner effectively to ensure Equity, Leadership Representation & Access across the Environmental and Climate movement.
We partner with organizations in the environmental movement including non-profits and philanthropies.
